The self-sabotage cycle & how to stop manifesting our own obstacles

We’re experts at getting in our own way, aren’t we? It’s like we’ve all signed up for a masterclass in self-sabotage, and we’re acing it. But here’s the thing: it’s not entirely our fault.

From an early age, we’ve been taught a specific pattern.

When something’s wrong, we rush to the doctor, therapist, or that friend who’s always ready with a sympathetic ear.

Then, we complain. We try to fix ourselves. We search for answers everywhere but not within.

Here’s a thought that might surprise you: what if there’s actually nothing wrong with you?

Over time, we’ve forgotten how to listen to ourselves.
We’ve lost that connection to our inner wisdom, that ability to feel and nurture the body-mind link.
Instead, we’re stuck in this loop of external validation and problem-focused thinking.

Every time we start talking about what we think is wrong with us, we’re not just expressing our concerns — we’re reinforcing those thoughts. We’re feeding them, helping them grow stronger. It’s like we’re affirming over and over again that something’s out of order and needs fixing before we can be okay.

This habit? It’s so self-destructive.

And the worst part is, we don’t even realize how harmful it is.

I can’t stress this enough: OUR THOUGHTS SHAPE OUR REALITY.

By repeating these negative narratives, we’re not just expressing them — we’re manifesting them. We’re integrating these scenarios into our lives, making them more real with each repetition.

Think about the phrases we use often:

“I don’t feel good”

“Today is not my day”

“I’ve been struggling for years, and I just can’t…”

Each time we say these words, our body is listening.

And like a reliable processor, it’s implementing what it hears.

So, what if we just… stopped?

Not by suppressing our feelings, but by choosing a different perspective.

What if we switched from victim mentality to self-determination and responsibility?

Because here’s the truth: you’re the only one responsible for yourself. No one else can do this job for you, my friend!

It’s time to break free from this self-sabotage cycle.

It’s time to reconnect with our inner knowing, to trust ourselves, and to realize that maybe — just maybe — we’ve been okay all along.

Remember, you’re not a problem to be fixed.

You’re a human being, perfectly imperfect, and capable of so much more than you’ve been led to believe!

So, next time you catch yourself about to dive into that familiar pool of self-doubt and complaint, pause.

Take a breath.

And ask yourself:

“Is this really true? Or am I just stuck in an old, unhelpful pattern?”
